Glenbirnam Farm

Jim and Roma Tingle operate Glenbirnam Farm, located on the Fraser River east of Prince George. Their farm has been in operation for over 45 years. They have a herd of Registered Black Angus cattle and a commercial flock of sheep. They direct market lamb into the local area as well as sell breeding stock, feeder lambs and 4-H lambs. Their ewe flock is predominantly Dorset /Suffolk cross bred to a Charollais ram as a terminal sire. Their Angus bulls are sold by private treaty and in the local purebred bull sales. They have some registered females for sale and occasional beef sales.

Kawano Farms

Kawano Farms (BC Plant 19) is a fully licensed Class A abattoir in Prince George, BC. Kawano Farms is a family owned business started over 35 years ago by Larry Noullett, and is now shared with his son Michael. It is operated year-round and employs several additional people locally.

Kawano Farms started as a tiny abattoir operation, and has grown in recent years to encompass the entire red meat industry, including beef and bison as well as ostrich, emu, llama and other specialty meats. Kawano Farms is primarily a processing and custom cut and wrap operation, with a significant wholesale and retail customer base. Halal slaughter services are also offered upon request. Their further processing operation includes smoking, curing, premium sausages, and beef jerky is one of their signature products. Kawano Farms is dedicated to making its business remain as local as possible, with the majority of its producers and customers originating from the immediate surrounding area, doing its part to support the local northern central economy.

Taiga Acres

Erin and James Ulmer produces beef and free-range chicken on their farm based out of Burns Lake, B.C.

Our beef is grass raised on the open range of our farm located on Southside Burns Lake. This ‘home grown’ method produces a premium quality product that is MUCH tastier than commercially produced meat. It also happens to be leaner and healthier. Narnia Farms

Lyn Nugent and Jocelyn Pearce  produce herbs, chevon (goat meat), and value-added products on their farm based out of Smithers, B.C.

Holly Ridge Farm
